These vented gas caps function to keep equal atmospheric pressure inside and outside the gas tank. As the tank empties while driving or idling, air is vented into the tank through the one way valve to keep the balance. This design allows air to enter the tank while keeping the fumes inside. Lifting a vehicle may require additional components for the vehicle to operate correctly and safely. Such components may include, but are not limited to: Brake lines, clutch lines, throttle cables, and axles.
